As the Super Eagles of Nigeria prepare for their match against Ethiopia in the CAF 2012 NationsCup qualifier, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye has lend his support to Samson Siasia, Coach of the Eagles.

In a brief chat with EL, Hon. Elegbeleye, Vice-Chairman, House Committee on Sports, says all hands must be on deck to show support for the regeneration taking place in the Super Eagles under the leadership of Siasia.

Speaking on the aftermath of the 2-1 defeat of the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone by the Eagles in an international friendly, Hon Elegbeleye, insisted that no one should blame Coach Samson Siasia for any perceived fault or low quality of the match, saying ‘Siasia is building a new team, as we all saw his efforts in building a new team , with the introduction of fresh young legs into the team.’

‘Also commendable is the effort towards blending both foreign and local players at that level. It is a welcome development, which each and everyone must support, if our football must move forward.’

Hon. Elegbeleye expressed optimism that Nigerians will soon see the Super Eagles of their dream soonest as he charged the coaching crew not to rest but strive for excellence.
