We love them, they are spectacular, they  have conquered in their sport and today they are stars.

It is not surprising to know that most legends in sports started training in their chosen sport from childhood, and got their big break before the age 25.

Who among these stars is your favourite?

We also seen and heard of great names in African football, today they are legend and many are still doing us proud.

George Weah

A great footballer who has won African player of the year award 3 times, European footballer of the year once and world FIFA player of the year 1995.he is known to be the only FIFA player of the year who did not qualify for the world cup with his national team.

Roger Miller

Has the record of been the oldest player to play at the world cup and even score. He also brought life to football with his celebration dance and moves. He is fondly remembered for his goal against Colombia at the 1990 world cup.

Samuel Eto’o

He has won the African player of the year award 3 times, a prolific goal poacher who, he is currently the most decorated African player, winning several medals and competition.

Kanu Nwankwo

Known as the “wonder kid” for many reasons, Kanu is known for his goal scoring ability he is the most decorated Nigerian player and one of Africans most decorated. He has also won the African player of the year 3 times.

Abedi “Pele” Ayew

The Ghanaian born player has won the African player of the year award twice. He made 73 appearances for his country and played in 13 football clubs. However he is known in Marseille for his goal scoring prowlness. He is known for his many dance steps while celebrating most of his goals.

Didier Drogba

A very influential player on and off the pitch, He is an African Player winner and also one of the most African most decorated player with individual honours, he scored the first ever world cup goal for his country in the 1996 world cup. He is recognized by the United Nations for his charity work and activities while been regarded as one of the most 100 influential men in the world by Time Magazine.

Rashidi Yekini

Yekini is the first Nigerian to score a goal at the world cup and the first to win the African Player of the year award. He made a stunning performance at the 1994 Nations Cup in Tunisia where he was the tournaments highest goals scorer.

Jay Jay Okocha

Known to where jersey No 10, He is skilful and talented. He is the first to win the BBC African player of the year award. He is place 12th in the CAF greatest African player in the 2007, 50th Anniversary. He won several cups with the national side and club. He was tipped twice to win the African Player of the year award.
